Monolayer graphene plays an important role in graphene technologies. Exfoliating thin 2D layers of graphene from 3D bulk graphite enhances its physical and chemical properties. With a concomitant increase its electrical conductivity, the product has interesting applications in microelectronics and sensor technology.
As suspensions, graphene monolayers are chemically very active. However, the material may restack over time. Monolayer graphene offered by Strem consists of a 1 cm x 1 cm, 50 micron‐thick copper foil that is coated with a single atomic layer of graphene. The single layer was not obtained through the classical exfoliation method, but deposited via Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD).
Monolayer graphene deposited onto substrates adopts its chemical, physical and mechanical properties. Monolayer graphene can easily be transferred from copper foil to other substrates. For detailed information about the transfer process, please see the Technical Note at the link below:
