SECTION 3: Hazards Identification
Emergency Overview: Corrosive. Liquid may cause serious chemical burns in all points of human contact. Skin burns, corneal damage to eyes, and choking and irritation of the respiratory tract may occur. Harmful if swallowed.
Primary Routes of Exposure: Ingestion, inhalation, eyes and skin
Eye Contact: Severe corrosive to the eyes. Exposure can lead to permanent eye damage.
Skin Contact: May be adsorbed through skin and cause burns. Contact can lead to redness, pain, blistering, ulceration, and scar formation.
Inhalation: Inhalation of vapor may produce severe irritation of the mucous membranes and lungs. Choking, coughing and pulmonary edema may occur.
Ingestion: Product is a corrosive acid. Ingestion may cause pain, vomiting, burns of mouth and throat, and ulceration of the gastrointestinal tract.
Acute Health Effects: Liquid and vapor are corrosive to eyes, skin, mucous membranes, gastrointestinal and respiratory tract with the primary health effects being burns, blindness, ulcerations and pulmonary edema.
Chronic Health Effects: Product contains fluorine which under certain conditions of use, decomposition, or metabolism, may generate fluoride ion, causing, nausea, vomiting, labored breathing, hypocalcemia, deterioration of bone and tooth structure, kidney and liver damage.

SECTION 4: First Aid Measures
Eye Exposure: Immediately flush the eyes with copious amounts of water for at least 10-15 minutes. A victim may need assistance in keeping their eye lids open. Get immediate medical attention.
Skin Exposure: Wash the affected area with water. Remove contaminated clothes if necessary. Seek medical assistance if irritation persists.
Inhalation: Remove the victim to fresh air. Closely monitor the victim for signs of respiratory problems, such as difficulty in breathing, coughing, wheezing, or pain. In such cases seek immediate medical assistance.
Ingestion: Seek medical attention immediately. Keep the victim calm. Give the victim water (only if conscious). Induce vomiting only if directed by medical personnel.
